One of the most dynamic tourist destinations in Rajasthan is the Ranthambore National park which is located near Sawai Madhopur, a small township which is situated in the middle of Kota and Bharatpur city. This national park is spread over an area of over 39,000 hectors which is approximately equal to 400 sq. kms. The Ranthambore National park was founded in the 19th century where it was recognized as a sanctuary in 1955 and then in 1973 it was well known as the tiger reserve of India. It gained the stand of a national park in the year 1981.

The Ranthambore National park is surrounded by the beautiful and wide ranges of Vindhya and Aarvali and you can also see the extensive Thar Deserts from this park as it is located on the outer edges of this huge desert. This is a memorizing park which has a very magnetic view of bits of vegetation grown in some parts of the park and rest is a complete desert area. The Ranthambore National park is recorded as the one of the most important reserve of the tigers under the Tiger project and thus you can say that this park is well known for tigers.

Udaipur also known as the Royal House of Mewar: Legend has it that the Sisodias of Mewar are descended from Lord Rama whose life story is told in India's great epic, the Ramayana. The chronicles of the bards tell us that in the sixth century Vallabhai was sacked by strangers from the west.The Queen of Vallabhai, Pushpavati, who was on a pilgrimage offering prayers for her unborn child, heard of the destruction of Vallabhai and the death of her husband while traveling through the Aravalli hills in the north. Despairing, she took refuge in a cave, and there gave birth to a son whom she called Guhil, In the seventh century the Guhil moved north, and down to the plains of Mewar, changing their name to Sisodia, after a village they encountered on the way. Rana Pratap (ruled 1572-97) was palace one of the great warrior kings of right, Mewar.

The airport at Udaipur air links it with other major cities of India like Delhi, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Aurangabad, and Mumbai.

The railway network connects Udaipur with Delhi, Chittor, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Ajmer, and Jodhpur.

Udaipur can be easily reached by road as well linking it to tourism destinations in Rajasthan and neighboring states of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

Ranakpur is a very famous place which is named after Rana Kumbha who gave the jain businessman Dharna Sah the vision to make Jain temple. You would be amazed to know that Ranakpur is very well known place and is popular amongst the five holy places of Jain community. This place is renowned and very well known for its beautifully carved Jain temples which are made in Amber stone. All the temples of Ranakpur were made in the AD 1439.

One of the five dhams of Hindus is Puskar, other being Badrinath, Rameswaram, Dwarka and Puri. The historical books of Hindus say that during the fight Lord Brahma with a lotus killed demon Vajra Nabh. The petals of this flower fell on this holy place of Puskar wherein a lake sprang up. Even though Lord Brahma plays a very important role to make this place a special one he is not worshiped as Savitri the wife of Lord Brahma cursed that he would not be worshiped anywhere.

Mount Abu is a diverse city which was a part of the Rajasthan kingdom which was once a resort for the Rajput kings of that particular region. Mount Abu belonged to Maharaja of Sirohi was then taken over by the British Government and used it as headquarters of Rajasthan. It was the most longed for summer destination especially of the Britishers which was mainly to get rid of the dust and the heat and experience the pleasant climate

Mandawa is one of the ancient cities of Rajasthan. It lies in the semi desert region between Delhi, Bikaner and Jaipur. Mandawa is famous for its havelis and this is the reason why it is also called as “open air gallery”. This city is located in the Shekhawati region and is surrounded by the majestic aravali ranges from all the sides. Mandawa fort is the famous tourist attraction of this place which has now converted into hotel. Kumbhalgarh is one of the very famous forts of Rajasthan which is located just 85 km away from Udaipur. This place is situated to the northwestern regions of Rajasthan. The city of Jodhpur today was once a small portion of the grand marwar state before independence. Hundred of centuries befor this desert came into existence, this area was a sea called Drumkulya. Epics have it that an arrow bound fire shot by Lord Rama burnt a large part of the sea and converted it into a desert. Hundreds of years later and after having undergone the ravages of several Kings and their battles , under the rule of king Rao Jodha of the Vikram Era (1510), the city was slowly established around the fort constructed by King Rao Jodhar.  

The city of Jaisalmer was the foundation of Bhatti Rajput in the year 1156. This beautiful city is regarded as the ‘Golden city’ which is located at Rajasthan. Jaipur also known as the historic city founded in the 1727 AD by the great Kacchawah ruler Sawai Jai Singh II( a great builder, poet and astronomer). The city which is rectangular in shape and divided into nine blocks laid down on the principles of “Shilpa Shastra”. The rectangular blocks also called the “chokris” . All the monuments of Jaipur are centrally located in and around the city. The city is also called the “Pink City”.

Getting to Jaipur especially from places like Mumbai and Delhi is not difficult at all because one can easily get to the Jaipur city by air, rail as well as road.

There are several domestic flights available from places like Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta.

The train service is available from several parts of the country like Luknow, Chennai, Ahmedabad apart from Mumbai and Delhi.

Dungarpur is a very rustic township of Rajasthan which was ruled by a potent king named Bhil Chieftain Dungaria. This great king wished to marry the beautiful Sala Shah, daughter of Mahajan. And in the marriage where the great Rawal Veer Singh panned to assassinate Bhil Dungaria, possessed the city of Dungarpur in the mid 13th century. Veer Singh decided to name the town in the name of Bhil Dungaria and thus this name derived. From then it just become the unsaid rule that the inheritor of Dungaria will apply Tilak on the forehead of the new ruler from his blood.

Chittorgarh is a magical place located in Rajasthan and is just 115 km away from Udaipur. A striking town rich in history, around thirty six kilometers far from Kota is Bundi. Bharatpur, a small district in Rajasthan, which is spread over an area of about 22 sq. km., was established by a great king Maharaja Suraj Mal. This place was established in 17th century and was once an unconquered region. This city is an integral part of the ancient Rajasthan. Bharatpur was named after the brother of Lord Ram, Bharat and Laxman another sibling of Lord Ram is worshiped by the local people as the family god. Under the rule of Maharaja Suraj Mal,

Bikaner, was founded in the 15th century by Rao Bikaji, the son of the Rathore raja of Marwar (Jodhpur). Bikaji was the second son of Rao Jodhaji, the real founder of Jodhpur state, its magnificent fort and city, this desert city was a major trade center on the old caravan route linking central Asia and North India with the Gujarat sea ports long before a Rathor Prince, Bika, conquered it in 1486 A.D. and called it Bikaner. In the 16th century the maharajas of Bikaner came into conflict with the Mughal emperor in Delhi, who were in the process of setting up their new empire in Hindustan.
